Voted 'what is'.. I know it's a TV show, but having never seen it "No" seems a bit of a strong reaction.

I also haven't watched it but from what I've heard it's soft core porn with a better plot.

Uhoh! I voted no before I had read the 'what is' option. Could do with changing my vote.

Of course I know what the programme is more or less (a carp fantasy of dark ages crossed with viking type of era) but I've never watched it, seen clips only. It never really interested me.

I thought it was a computer game. Goodness knows what it's about though. Can't really say I'm interested either.

I'm aware of it but don't really know what it's about so I voted no. If a TV programme really 'takes off' and I've never seen it from the first episode of the first series I just can't bring myself to join in on episode 2 or catch up.

I've read the books, and am a bit irritated that Martin left off writing them to do the TV series - the age he is, he'll likely conk before writing another.

WRT the series, I enjoy it when it comes around, but I'm not a fan of anything, at least not in the Sunderland Till I Die sense*.

* unless you mean the Short Sunderland, of course. Wonderful planes. A neighbour of ours used to build them, during the War.

I watched one episode and wasnt impressed. I heard its a soap with sex and violence. We don't watch any soaps or listen to the Archers. Not interested.

Other than the odd things on BBC like Les Mis my favourite channels are PBS and Talking Pictures. Documentries, History and Wildlife programmes are also favourites. Any Sport gets switched off, cant stand it. There is the odd good movie and series on Netflix. The ballard of buster scruggs was fantastic.

I've watched it and enjoyed it. Enjoyed the books too (as far as he got).

IMO it's a bit of a golden age of serialised TV at the moment (although I limit myself to a single episode whilst having my tea).
Vikings, Last Kingdom, Norsemen, Travellers, Outlander, The Man in the High Castle, Peaky Blinders - to name but a few.
So much good stuff on YouTube as well (once you manage to find it).

It's nice to turn my brain off on an evening for an hour, cuddle up on the sofa with Mrs Kwackers and relax.

I didn't like the books, either.

Sounds interesting, I am interested in things I am not interested in
When creating a poll one may allow votes to be changed, or not, useful when arguing about b****t
Might be best not to change the poll now lest votes already cast are zeroed

i've changed it so you can change your vote. seems ok votes not lost

calling it soft porn a bit extreme. There are one or 2 parts where you see stuff ( these days few programmes are made as if in the 1950's) but mostly its about power struggles , hence the title. The only scene that is rather in the face is where Cersei ( Lena Headey) does a walk of shame full frontal down the steps amongst the jeering crowds. Hardly tittilating. it is notable as a show that seems to kill off it's stars after a season or so. so Sean Bean didnt last long. A fun show very well made. One of the best of its type with great acting & drama. A lavish production. I think every one is waiting to see Cersei get her come uppance
her revenge -

well Game of Thrones is over, I have yet to watch it but what I hear its all been a cop-out and had a nice ending rather than they all get killed by the lord of the living dead from the north. Ah but dragon lady dies, shame. I hear they are making a prequel
