Was told such a joke this week, first time I've heard such a joke for years; they used to be common. But interestingly the joke was told to me by an Irishman (ROI), and he called the Irish protagonist 'Paddy'. I was a bit surprised, perhaps I've been inculcated with PC!

The joke, by the way, was the one about the three being in a pub and a fly landing in each's beer. The Englishman and Irishman being sanguine about it and the Scotsman squeezing the fly and seething, 'Spit it out ye b'stard'.

The old ones weren't always the best...

What has this got to do with cycling? Wrong forum.

I'm sure our resident Welshman is wondering why those jokes always miss out one of his countrymen. Seriously you don't get many Welsh in those nation jokes.

Why is that? I think there's plenty to laugh about every nation of the British isles but the welsh don't get as much humour about them. Unless I've missed a lot of Welsh jokes of course.

Yes, but a 'Wales' is still the most recognised international form of measurement of areas of land, as in 'twice/half the size of Wales'.

Not if you are familiar with TV documentaries - they always refer to xnumber of football pitches! I'm not a fan or football - you probably guessed.

How many London buses = 1 Olympic swimming pool?

London bus is usually a measure of length.
Olympic swimming pool is a measure of volume.
Football pitch is a measure of area, so the above do not compute (as Mr Spock would say).

I'm 99% sure it did go in Tea Shop. And there's no moderator note to say it was moved. But can't be sure!

I guess computer glitches aren't unknown! Though as said l can't discount human error.
