am man was recently convicted at local mags court for assaulting a police officer - which resulted in a fractured cheek bone...The offender received an £80 fine......

so kicking the [inappropriate word removed] out of a cop = £80

riding a cycle where not allowed = £440

your answers on the back of a five pound note please

Most of that £440 was made up of the extras incurred by ignoring the enforcement process, as this thread and another make clear. Have you a link to a report of the £80 fine case you mention? I ask only to see if that too included anything else.

Thanks for that. An awful lot of violence. Not made any better by no mention of the fractured cheek bone.
