Was it Allan Clark who confessed to a twinge of desire for his leader?

Wasn't he the sparing with the actuality guy? (When revealed to have been lying.)

The truth is, most of them are in love with themselves. And onanists, to boot (up the jacksie.)

I think so. Actualite. With an acute accent, in my memory.
Your last sentence conjures up some disturbing images.

I use circumlocution because they can't touch you for it. Some years ago, I was exchanging info on the open forum with a Dutch member (Phaeton IIRC) He queried whether my username was some sort of rhyming slang and my explanation, including my explicit clarification of his innuendo merited a reprimand from a mod. (I must have got the other person's username wrong: phaeton does not exist. Unless they were banned for entrapment  )

I have just remembered that Clark described his quantum of desire for Thatcher as a "batsqueak" not a twinge.

Gove Leadsome and Hunt seem to be the only candidates with any sort of track record, albeit chequered in some cases. But, everyone has baggage. Hoping the red trouser and chinze brigade dont elect Boris which will make us even more of a laughing stock.

I think most of us agree with that, with the unfortunate exceptions of a majority of the 120,000 members of the Tory Party.

You are right. Research finds that the batsqueak was John Major lusting after Edwina Currie.

Silly me. I thought it began with a ph. scroll down and the post is there.

Anyway, for anybody remotely interested, "obscene nickname" was originally the W word, rhyming with a synonym of killick.

The blonde lady looks attractive. :D
I'd vote for her.

Not having a telly or buying a newspaper, I'd have difficulty picking out any politician by their looks alone.

Definitely better than The Widdy Woman

But not as good as the Croatian president Kolinda Grabar
