Back to the Tories - I'm still 'none of the above' but would like to see some unity around an 'ABB' candidate.

I am in the neighbouring constituency with Helen Hayes who voted against article 50. A more reliable mp

What is the definition of "prime minister" in UK?

First bit:
The office is not established by any statute or constitutional document but exists only by long-established convention, which stipulates that the monarch must appoint as Prime Minister the person most likely to command the confidence of the House of Commons.

Second bit:
This individual is typically the leader of the political party or coalition of parties that holds the largest number of seats in that chamber.

Bojo only fits the second bit perhaps?

I think that Clement Attlee would be defined differently from B***** Thatcher.

Hard to pick a winner from tonight's C4 debate. Presenter was dreadful.

I thought Rory won it reasonably comfortably. I was most disappointed with Jeremy Hunt. Agree re Gurumurty (sp?), who was poor, I thought.

Stewart does seem the most realistic on Brexit. That probably rules him out in the Tories' current madness.
Politics aside, his ambulatory antics in Afghanistan make him most sympathetic to me, and I would guess to most here.

Is a Spoonerism not something slightly different?

Eg. "Sir, you will leave Oxford by the next town drain".

Way back in this thread people moan about 0.25% of population choosing pm. They're choosing the leader of the Tory party but because of our systems that usually means they'll become pm. I personally think moaning about unelected pm after a mid term leadership change is a bit pathetic. It's the system we have. Many countries have similar.

Suck it up snowflakes. You're getting a useless tosser as pm. Does it really matter which tosser it is? :D

Even if they don't make government (minority government possible theoretically) you'll end up with a red, pathetic tosser instead.

We're a nation devoid of political talent capable of steering the country to favourable waters. Name one prominent mp capable of strong, political leadership. Who can bring a majority to bear on their legislative priorities?
