I see they - the 1922 Committee - have streamlined the selection process, so that instead of weekly votes for the next few months on the devil-take-the-hindmost principle, it will be done and dusted during the third week in July. (Thinks) Is that just in time for the Summer recess, so the selection process doesn't interfere with the long summer hol. Sorry, recess.

Will this detract from his popularity among the traditional party membership?
Or endear him to a younger, less bigoted type of voter?
