Sorry about that but I have just got into the mindset of all those Remainers who keep asserting we Leavers are all thick uninformed racists. I think I would rather be described as naive. :D

Thick uninformed racists might be too close to the truth. For what I see/hear from Leavers, on this forum and elsewhere, promotes a perception that they are uninformed (thick too), as their opinions are never or at best rarely, supported by anything remotely resembling an informed opinion.

John.

You may well be right about some leave supporters but it's also true that some remainers have a very high opinion of themselves.

Better a little conceit(ed) than a racist: or indeed a thick uninformed racist.

John.

Neither is a particularly desirable trait.

Interesting remark: maybe a spark of honesty from A_Y?

Or maybe what you're trying to put across, is that you don't actually regard yourself as naïve, but you wouldn't get too upset if others described you as naïve.

Personally I'd prefer to interpret it as, you now concede that a large proportion of Leavers were indeed naïve - possibly including A_Y...

But I'm not holding my breath.

I still feel that the overt racists and fascists, whilst not actually part of the mainstream Leave movement, have indeed come out of the woodwork since the referendum. OK: I understand that the mainstream Leavers may not (and I hope not!) see them as kindred spirits; but on the other hand, the racists do see the Leavers as having empowered them.

Is that precise enough?

What did work was using the same permanent marker over the offending lines, then wiping quickly before the solvent evaporated away. But if anyone caught you doing that it would look as though you had written it.
Meths, then?

A quick search suggests alcohol. Booze.

Yes. The alcohol based anti-bacterial hand gels work well, and comes in small bottles :)

Thanks for those kind words john  Doing your bit to create an atmosphere of love and understanding? In your own way you demonstrate the lack of care for the "other" that this deplorable graffiti does. Be kind! That is what I've always told my kids. Be kind!

Any that post here could be guilty of that trait (sic).

Poteen does a damn good job of getting rid of it. When one of my boys was little he used a permanent marker to draw on a door. I'd just been given a 2 litre jug of ferociously strong Poteen, tried some on the marker and it worked very well.

Excellent idea, but I fear Poteen (or more correctly, Poitín) may be hard to come by in leafy Sussex. Although our local Waitrose stocks a wide variety of booze, I don't think they have it.

I do have some long-neglected Slivović in our booze-cupboard (which we rarely open). Can't stand the stuff. So I suppose I could try that.

Or it'll have to be the meths. Just wondering, if I'm stopped by the Old Bill carrying a meths bottle and a rag (makings of a Molotov cocktail? I thought they used petrol) - would I end up banged up in the Nick?

Not on Wolstonbury Hill, surely! A disarmingly peaceful locality...

A friend's uncle used to make it in a shed on his allotment from tates he grew there. He was from Connaught and called it Poteen.

I made an error.....

I vaguely remember a couple of illegal stills being discovered in Sussex - so Googled "Sussex illegal stills"

I have 405,000 references to child pornography!
