You could make a guess on some of what's written here, but considering I need to order specs on this info, the qualifications these people hold don't include communicating clearly to their customers.
I am stuck, short of going back to shop where I had my eye test.

Take it anywhere you like and get the other opticians to do the legwork.

I shop online for frames and then get glazing done similarly.

I now go to asda for my specs. Comparable pricing to online stores and you can see and feel the product. I think opticians should be regulated to supply prescriptions in a printed format so there is no mistake if you take it to another dispenser. I took mine to asda and left them to do the legwork in contacting my optician as my prescription was hand written and as far as I could tell was illegable.

My wife did that. She came back with glasses falling off her head because nobody checked the fit. A very poor experience.

Just checked- eye prescriptions going back to 06, all but latest two are printed, same high street firm but different branch.
I will complain, did that a few days ago (they say contact in 48hrs) nothing as yet.

I can get buy online for £15, they fit just right and are plastic frames, you can sit on them, they don't fall off when you lean forward, light and don't damage when you drop.

I could read them all bar one the left cylinder.
I had a prescription a few years ago which I took along to ASDA. Some of the info was missing they rang up the opticians where I’d had the test and got all the info there and then.

just think before the invention of eye glasses, in the olden days, if your sight went you were fit for nothing anymore. Must have been horrible everything being blurred.

I think those were just Brother William's reading glasses. He could see perfectly well.

I had no difficulty reading it & neither would anyone familiar with spectacle prescriptions, so any optician should be able to read it and make some specs for you. Worse case scenario would be that they could put some lenses in a test frame and get you to read an acuity chart to check the figures.

Agreed the Left Cylinder, which Paulatic had trouble with is a bit of a scribble, but as there is no axis it must be Pl for Plano.

In fact looking at the prescription I would say:

R Eye, slightly long sighted with a small amount of astigmism
L Eye, negligibly long sighted, and no astigmatism

Reading +2.00 addition to prescription required

How far down the chart can you read without glasses?

If that was my prescription I would be looking at tyring out a pair of off the shelve +2.50 reading glasses for close work before paying out to have prescription lenses

One thing I noticed when I went for my eye test a couple of weeks ago: the test chart is now splashed on a computer screen and the optician changes it for each test - so you can't 'cheat' by memorising the letters!

I was wondering whether this one would pop up. But it didn't...

As I said further up. prescription lens glasses I can buy on line for £15, same type and design as I have been using for some time.
The point is I can only guess what the values of some are, yes I can look at my old prescriptions and work it out.
I used to use easy readers, but they don't correct focal length to be equal both eyes, I would notice as I do a lot of detail work.

Anyway I realise that some of you have deciphered it for me, thanks.
The principle is that you would think that a eye tester would be able to write clearly.
Sent another email today.

Reminds me of the old joke about pharmacists having a special course at uni in interpreting the doctors' handwriting.

My GP prints out his scripts from his desk computer.
