I worried about damage but I've had a good look at both bikes and can't see any signs. Both frames are aluminium.not that this made any difference.

The bear analogy might not be very good. Won't bears just incapacitate the slower one then get the faster one. If they wanted to get anyone in the first case.

At work they got the two best bikes with the best locks (not the best locks but they were in a security gated yard). Actually only one guy and that's why only two bikes went. A few days later the guy joined up with others to walk into a high school grounds and walked out with a lot if bike into the back of the van. Brazen behaviour but they got away with it.
