The NW is right but Northern Ireland -- normal service here. Not as much wind as we usually get though. The rain is usually sideways.

Was meaning to get out yesterday but very wet and forecast said yesterday dry today weather said very wet but nope wrong again -- dry all day -- sadly I had organised other things to get done today. I'm going to ignore the forecast from now on and just have a look from the top windows to the west.

A little dusting of snow on top of cheviot - it certainly felt cold out on the bike.

Didn't know whether to rain, hail or shine today. Was nearly completely dark at 2pm and plumpin down earlier with roads turning to rivers. Then the sun broke through with scattered showers.

Hi,
S Devon.
Yesterday t shirt and warm - to hot sun on my neck.
Later on, dark, temp 6 c, cycle path flooded.
Should of worn sleeves under wind top, so cold hands, even legs cool with shorts.
Final climb up track to home but one hand still numb from cold (3 hr ride).
NA Thinks Just End 2 End Return + Bivvy - Some day Soon I hope

I’m beginning to think it’s a Cornish thing. I’ve been back over two years now and not seen a single flash and heard nery a rumble, despite several forecasts to the contrary.
The older I get the more I’m inclined to act my shoe size, not my age.

Yes thunderstorms are much more frequent over larger land masses.
Convection!

They do still occur at sea but much less so.
In coastal W Wales they are quite rare, whereas further inland commonplace.
Indeed rain producing showers are also rarer altogether. And we coastal dwellers sometimes get drought.

Are you sure about that?
Probably I live a bit nearer the valley than you do, I hear it every evening about 7:30.
The rumble is about the time Mick comes home for his tea from the pub

Been wind and rain without ceasing for weeks now but that's normal for here. Relying on indoor exercise for now. To be fair I do need a lot of work on the upper half after my bad off.
