Ditto -- what's the Norwegian app?rjb wrote: ↑5 Dec 2021, 8:59am I've come to that conclusion too about the BBC weather app. On the strength of yesterday's forecast about sunshine and breezy winds with no rain Swmbo put the washing machine on for 2 full washes only to find the frequent heavy showers started as soon as the washing cycle finished. She was not impressed is an understatement.
BTW whats the Norwegian app.

The Norwegian one is yr.no.
I also look at xcweather and I find that the met office's 10 day trend, which comes out on Wednesdays on You tube, is an interesting discussion on the uncertainties.

Thanks. I'm off to have a look at yr.no.
I like AccuWeather.
Has anyone ever seen or done an assessment of accuracy of different sources/ programs in the UK?

Re: How's your weather?
By BBC Weather do you mean on TV or the App?
I use the App with location accuracy turned on and find it to be quite accurate. The MET Office App is quite good too.

I've used the BBC app for some time now and it was great up till the pandemic hit then it seemed to go nipples up.
Bitterly cold windy and wet today -- again.

Fine at the moment but heavy rain rolling in from the west soon, confirmed by rain radar.

Told ya so: Comet Leonard did its thing (I assume) behind thick cloud this morning. Sun's just appearing now.

I mean the BBC weather app on Android. If the Norwegian App fails I am going to get some seaweed.

I always think winter doesn't start in earnest until around the shortest day.
Re: How's your weather?
I often say, that winter doesn't actually exist - especially here in the SW.
The US expression for autumn is "fall" and that sums up the autumn quite well. I've already posted about the daffs poking out, and I also see that there are buds on some trees, especially hazel. Spring follows autumn, and winter often doesn't exist at all.
The leaves are still falling, so it's still autumn. The trees are at their barest in February.

Hi,
Conservatory!peetee wrote: ↑4 Dec 2021, 7:02am I wish it would rain here more often. It’s not that it’s too dry, no. Instead of being subjected to a normal off-season of intermittent rain, sleet or snow showers interspersed by grey skies we are subjected to 8 months of continuous drizzle. I am seriously considering buying a tumble dryer as I seem to require the heating on to dry clothes more often than I need it on to warm the occupants.

this year that is 15:53 on the 21st.
I prefer the seasons related to our movement around the Sun, far more natural than man made months.
