How's your weather?

Post by Mick F »

I planned on a good walk today with the dawg, but it's blowing a hooligan of a gale out there, and chucking it down too.

Weather forecast was for wind ......... not torrential rain as well.

In the mid Teifi valley, West Wales. ....

Mild (9 degrees this morning but now dropped to 6 degrees C); calm but increasing bouts of gusty wind; no rain but a low winter sun slowly getting swallowed by some big cloud banks coming from the west. The red kites and rooks are up, playing excitedly in the air as they sense high winds a-coming in.

PS A good hour and a half walking about the forest on Llwndrissi with the collies, one of which currently has a small fault in the left rear four-paw drive diff, so is forbidden the stick or ball for a while.

It's windy here in Somerset but no rain yet. Managed a 26 mile tandem jaunt with a cafe stop this morning so still on target for 20 a day. :D It's looking dark now so expecting a shower soon. The Somerset levels are on the Lee side of Dartmoor and Exmoor so the more rain they dump on the windward side the less we get.
At the last count:- Peugeot 531 pro, Dawes Discovery Tandem, Dawes Kingpin X3, Raleigh 20 stowaway, 1965 Moulton deluxe, Falcon K2 MTB dropped bar tourer, Rudge Bi frame folder, Longstaff trike conversion on a Giant XTC 840 :D

We've just had an ice cream van chiming it's way down our road. Didn't sell much.

Ice cream?
They used to sell fags in the old days.

Managed 3miles with the dog and picked a window in the weather, and called in at the Queens Head for a couple of beers. Busy in there today.
Chucked it down whilst at the bar, and cleared up as I left. Chucked it down since getting home.
Lucky, or what eh? :D

One little shower and a bit of a breeze. Pretty normal West Country day.

Forecast here is for 40mph winds increasing to 70mph this evening. It's high tide down the road shortly so I am off for some wave spotting. Can't have all me fun on the bike.

It is the annual cyclocross event this weekend so predictably weather is mostly rain with 70 to 50 mph wind. This is relatively mild as used to be mixed with icy roads. I used to do the timekeeping at this but now replaced by an electronic system.

Windy in Cardiff.
9 Centigrade
Periods of bright sunshine interspersed with heavy showers and grey skies.
I managed an hour in between showers on my new to me mountain bike in the woods around Castel Coch earlier and then managed to get time between showers to clean it in the back garden.
