Suppose that this room is a lift. The support breaks and down we go with ever-increasing velocity.

Solitary confinement makes anyone lose track of time but maybe he's running a temperature and the scale is confusing in America.kylecycler wrote: ↑9 Nov 2021, 4:27pm One of the US Capitol riot insurrectionists on Newsmax, a right-wing channel, complaining about his jail conditions...

Re: What Has Made You Laugh Today ?
What made me laugh today was a crow..
My wife had taken some ingredients to our church kitchen in preparation for a 'do'.
Quiches were a main part of it, and she'd made bags of pastry at home to save labour later.
After about half an hour in the kitchen she couldn't find the bags of ready made-uncooked pastry.
She'd left them outside, by the door - she went out when she'd realised, and there was this crow.
It'd pecked it's way through the carrier bag, and through one of the inner bags and was feasting on this pastry..
It flew away when it realised it'd been discovered, but only onto a gate-post.
Obviously the bag that the crow had pecked into had to be removed and not used.
She took the untouched stuff inside, and went out to deal with the bag the crow had been in to.
She emptied the pastry (a lump about six inches cube) onto the grass, and took the bags to screw-up and throw away.
When she got back, there was the crow again - at the pastry - but this time didn't fly away.
She stepped back to see what it would do, and it just carried on eating!
I called round later, and the pastry had disappeared - and there was a crow on the gatepost keeping it's eye on me.
It occurred to me that there was a helluva lot of pastry for one crow!

Maybe it was now too heavy to fly off the gate post!
Re: What Has Made You Laugh Today ?
Talking of gate posts.
A comment on YT video today described Boris Johnson as a "turtle on a post".
The commentator explained the unusual Kiwi saying as,if you were driving along and you see a turtle on a post the first thing you ask yourself is "that shouldn't be there?" second thing is "what use is it there?" and the third thing is "what idiot put it there?"
Food for thought and quite funny I thought

I bought myself a blood pressure monitor on (or should that be off of) ebay the other day, it was described as an ideal Christmas present which made me laugh.
