As I said from the list mentioned above Meghan with her £6M is the only one who is beyond criticism. Maybe she was over paid for her acting ( they all are ) but thats another matter.

Harry served in the Armed Forces.

You were specifically criticising Harry.

How far back was the current queens assets derived? I only ask because monarchs actually fought and died in the past. Royals have amassed and lost fortunes over the generations. If you think of monarchs as chairmen or MD or CEO of large corporations there's been good and bad ones over the years. Some grow the business others lose money. That's just like monarchs through the ages.

My point is how do you judge monarchs financial worth? Is your method fair? Can you actually explain your method for your evaluation?

I would like to know that as well. The "queens" £1bn must go back some way? or she should be chairman of Shell or some thing. Would be an interesting story to read about and for a journalist to research?

According to the bottom of the page of this url

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-51185628

Currently, 95% of the couple's income comes from Prince Charles's income from the Duchy of Cornwall, a vast portfolio of property and financial investments, which brought in £21.6m last year.

....

It is understood the couple will continue to receive money from Harry's father under the new agreement, although it is unclear whether this will come from the Duchy, his personal wealth, or a combination of the two.

However, the pair will stop receiving money from the taxpayer-funded Sovereign Grant, which makes up the other 5% of their income.

So not as if he is forgoeing much is he? I was of the impression he might have to sign on

And the Duchy of Cornwall is a quasi public/private entity and Charles probably offsets any payments to Harry against tax? So it seems to me all a bit of a fiddle.

I hope we are starting to see the dismantling of the monarchy - Charles will be the last with William is it over seeing boarding up Buck. Palace, prior to be turned into a museum ( or a 10 star hotel  ) ? That will be a day to celebrate?

so is this what we can expect from Megxit?

Milking it for all its Worth
Milking it for all its Worth

“The day of the royal family usually begins with a cup of milk or a cup of tea.”

http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/shortcuts/2020/jan/22/peter-phillips-lady-kitty-spencer-milk-china

and the BBC finally gets there

The full story from the Mail

seems to me about time "the royal family" was patented or copyrighted or trade marked to stop hanger-ons exploiting any connection?

A suggestion for the couple contact Harry's? ( May be Meghan can use it to shave her legs? - do they still do that or is it waxing now?)

I see now being reported that "going it alone" is no quite as alone as we'd expect. If you leave your job then you tend not to get to keep the perks that went with the job. But royals seem to expect otherwise.

Seems Harry |& Megan are angry about having to stop using the "Sussex Royal" branding.

If you are genuinely stepping down from being a royal why would/should you want to keep using "royal" in your "branding". And if really "stepping down" why keep your HRH titles.

To me they are either royals or they aren't. Seems to me they want many of the benefits without the obligations (*and is anybody surprised when Windsors are involved).

I can't see that happening. Whenever their profile (in the UK) goes a bit quite, he'll be back with some statement about his Mum and his mental health or the evil press showing an interest (or lack of) in them or something.
