We bought a pack of six from Morrisons during the week. Had four left before then.

We have loads of newspaper. Western Morning News.
We don't buy newspapers, but a friend's father has the WMN six days a week so they collect it from him and drop it at our gate as they pass.
We use old newspaper for lots of things besides lining the parrot cage and/or lighting the fire.

We could cut the newspaper into squares and hang it on a string by the loo. :D

It depends - we bulk buy loo rolls, because we can store them. We have done so for many years.
So we'll have whatever the large pack is from Costco, then we'll run that down and get a new large pack when that's nearly out.
A shortcut has to be a challenge, otherwise it would just be the way. No situation is so dire that panic cannot make it worse.
There are two kinds of people in this world: those can extrapolate from incomplete data.

Use newspaper and it won't be long before you have to get your drains cleared!

Wow, That reminds me of reading the Mike Harding book -"Yer can see the angel's bum Miss Worswick!"?
Tels of his granny and her cronies, all having a gas about the very subject of using such squares of media. Suddenly one old biddy, who was the local Priest's housekeeper, jumps up and heads for the door.
"What's the matter?", "Just realised I've cut up the Catholic pictorial, so the Father may be wiping his bum on the Holy Father's face!".
He also stated that it was horrible using the Daily Telegraph, "The ink comes off, makes yer bum looks like you've been sitting in the coal hole.".
I used to get Bidons and Bidets mixed up? MM

Always have several packs of six or nine. Nothing to do with panic buying or hoarding. Just decades of living out in the country. Now that I am in a village it's simply an old and useful habit.

Same with flour, pasta, rice, tea, coffee, oils and certain tins.
