Apologies for the resurrection, I thought these sheep might be of interest to Paulatic, handily identified for a townie like me..

Cycling round Texel is lovely.

And the ferry had the biggest collection of recumbents that I've ever seen outside a meeting or a shop.

I remember the excitement of their potential when they were introduced here back in the 70s. I had a Texel T shirt and recall driving from the NE of England to an open day near Annan here in Scotland. Big disappointment as a number of animals on show had a fault in the way a back foot was joined. On show because everything seemed to bred from to feed their popularity. Since those days the breed has settled down and has its use and their fans.
