Hi all, I seem to recall a while back that there was a chap in Germany who dealt with obstructed pavements and blocked crossings in a neat way? He walked over the vehicle involved! Did it loads of times, even got himself pinched for it, drivers claiming damage to their vehicle?
When the cases came before the Judiciary the cases against him were always thrown out, the vehicles shouldn't have been there. He even walked over Police vehicles :lol:

Now don't ask for citations or reference points, but I haven't dreamt it up.
The Blind, the mobility impaired and other groups feel these matter quite acutely, but hey ho the lazy and stupid must park where they want! MM

But is this really an anti-motorist suggestion encouraging damage to unlawfully parked cars?

As you said yourself a car is not a person so how can it be anti-motorist?It is an accident precipitated by an unlawful act.

I was thought pavement parking was simply a minor irritation to a small subset of grumpy people until, about five years ago, my wife became increasingly less mobile.
While she's still a way off from needed a set of wheels it's made me realise how inconsiderate (and bloody minded) pavement parking is.
Let alone the poor design of many supposedly public areas that are inaccessible without prior planning.

My point us, that until one has experienced some degree of loss of mobility its not completely apparent what challenges are faced by a lot of people due to what many motorists (and others) think is normal and acceptable.

If you had responsibility for moving kids in a pram etc,you would have realised it a lot earlier-and this explains grumpiness in harrassed mothers.

A lot of the recently constructed housing estates around here don't have any pavements. I don't know how that works with local planning.

Matches planning priorities perfectly - why waste space for things that aren't cars?

If you dispense with c ars etc,and insist on walking etc. pavements are rendered superfluous.Perhaps the estates are designed thus?

As a former wheelchair pilot I got very annoyed with pavements being obstructed. Think Alf Garnet wheeling Florrie around and it about sums it up.

Thats going back a bit.I would add David Weir on a training session-would put no money on motorist.
