Aww diddums.

You don't quite get it Syd, do you, ... it has no impact on David and Julie, we're the carers .... it's the children that get harmed yet again ................

Lets just keep on hurting children .... that about it ?

It’ll harm them a lot less than various deaths in the family would - so yes. Keep “harming” the kids by restricting visits.[/quote]

Make sure you still have small, but extravagant, celebration(s) - at least one including your grandfather.
A shortcut has to be a challenge, otherwise it would just be the way. No situation is so dire that panic cannot make it worse.

It could be geting worse? I understand that letters are being compiled by the govt to tell all vulnerble to stay inside in those areas affected, since I see the infection rate in care homes is going up again (presumably b******d younger people with their socialising and not wearing face masks in shops etc infecting others  )

In both the Telegraph and the Grauniad this morning a number of Scientists, Government Scientists, have said that the rule of 6 is pointless and just made up on the spot ....
If we have to follow the science why are we not doing that now ... 6 is just another pointless restriction that will help no one ...
Pointless restrictions from a pointless government ...

Infections will continue to rise and deaths will not .... summer / winter flu is killing hundreds more than C-19 (ONS) ...
But somehow your invincible to one and not the other ?

What will happen with 6 a side football. Will they be able to field two full teams or only have three players in each team.

The government is being judged on deaths from only one so ain't bothered about the other.

Gang of six-impact on Xmas

They are only pointless if people ignore the new rules.

The R number is again at, or above, 1. Those flouting the rules are putting the nation at risk of more strict controls to come, including the potential for a second full lockdown.

The government;certainly in Scotland) have said it is a balancing act between allowing people to operate as close to normal as possible whilst keeping the virus at bay. That requires some tweaking from time to time and this latest ruling in one of those.

Ok some people ‘suffer’ as a result but others have undergone greater‘suffering’ due to the deaths of ‘loved ones’.

I have no empathy at all for those in that situation hence my use of inverted commas.

Also, surely I am not the only one enjoying the social distancing, less crowded places and the lack of interaction with others?

what number then? presumably any small number would bejust as arbitary?. I suppose the number was arrived at to allow some kind of modest social activity?

Much as I love my 6 kids, their spouses and grandchildren, I'm looking forward to a quiet Christmas with just our youngest daughter and my wife. For decades the stress of buying so much food, preparing the house etc, meant looking forward to the first week back to work in January for a rest. Bah humbug I hear some say. The materialism, greed and bickering, which are all part of the normal human condition, nevertheless have conspired to make me not look forward to the Christmas break. Its sad really as when I was a, child I loved it. This year I know I'll enjoy it.
I really hope other here enjoy this coming Christmas as well.

First they put us under house arrest - and I did nothing

Next they stopped us seeing members of our families - and I did nothing

Then they told us not to come within 2 metres of another human being - and I did nothing

Then they told us to wear a mask in supermarkets after saying masks didn't stop the virus - and I did nothing

Then they announced that the economy had shrunk by over 20% - and I did nothing

Then they closed all places of worships - and I did nothing

Then they told us were the were merely trying to flatten the curve, but continued lockdowns, long after the "curve" had been flattened - and I did nothing

Then they axed British peoples holiday's in France, Spain, The Netherlands and Croatia because of a handful of people had tested positive in those countries - and I did nothing

Then I found out Sir Patrick Vallance, Chief Scientific Adviser to the Government of the United Kingdom, had worked for 12 years GlaxoSmithKline (no conflict of interest there regarding vaccines ?) - and I did nothing

Then I found out the death rate for Covid 19 was not worse than for season flu - and I did nothing

Then I found out that the UK death rate from Covid 19 and that of other countries had been massively exaggerated, to include any who have once tested positive for Covid but had died of something completely different - and I did nothing

Than I found people had been dying of untreated cancer and other serious diseases around the world - and I did nothing

Then I found out the Coronavirus Act 2020 was set to be renewed for another 2 years with massive state powers to remove our liberties - and I did nothing

Then I found the United Kingdom was completely bankrupt because there is no magic money forest for all this spending - and I did nothing

Then it became compulsory to wear a mask in the open air, against my will, be vaccinated against my will, be tested against my will - and I did nothing

Then one day I found all the freedom's we had taken for granted had been taken away from us never to return.

What had I done to stop it? - NOTHING

Hi
We're being subjected to more rules because others haven't been following the simple ones. C19 could have burnt out weeks ago
This was originally used in food production but is generally available. It doesn't get much simpler and less intrusive than this

People go on about the spirit that (in the story at least) existed in World War Two, where the nation stood shoulder to shoulder and acted as one in the face of adversity, with a bit of grumbling no doubt, but with a common purpose and some sense of unity. That degree of unity cannot happen again, as this crisis shows. In the age of the internet opinion is and will remain fragmented, with some adhering to the official strategy and others undermining it. Expressing personal freedom looks like a good thing on the face of it but it weakens the nation's response to challenges.

With Boris and Cummings sneaky last hour intervention to allow an exception to grouse shooting parties
https://raptorpersecutionscotland.wordp ... vid-curbs/

Dominic Cummings’ father in law Sir Humphry Wakefield often hosts shoots at his own property, Chillingham Castle estate, in Northumberland and has expressed his love for hunting in the past. Some of the party’s fundraising events have auctioned pheasant shooting events in Scotland.

may be families could organise xmas get togethers around standing about in the back garden waving guns about ? then retire to the house for xmas dinner
