not sure what your take on this amounts to. But it seems the EU wants the UK to shoulder the full burden of any GFA consequences due to Brexit, inspite of the fact the EU are co-guarantors of the GFA. That refusal by the EU is the impasse you are referring to?

When are you going to get it?
It's the UK's fault, they want to leave, they've caused all the problems, they've gone back on their word it's them who shoulder the blame and cost.
And it'll be you and me who'll shoulder the real cost in many more ways than you may realise.
It's what happens when self entitled millionaire schoolboys wade waaayyyy out of their depth and drag the rest of us down with them!
The difference being they have the privilege of money lots of it,the rest of us don't!

House of Lords Select Committee report on the Internal Market Bill:
https://publications.parliament.uk/pa/ld5801/ldselect/ldconst/151/151.pdf

The conclusions on the international law aspects start on page 54 at paragraph 55.

Indeed. People who are happy for the govt to break foreign law would do well to read all the comments on how this Bill is riding roughshod over the UK constitution and allowing alarmingly wide powers to ministers. Taking back control?

I didnt think we had a ( written ) constitution. Were to have one like the Germans, that would probably , like the Germans, have a clause to override international agreements when they conflict with it.

Of course we have some sort of constitution, but it isn't all written in one place. Some people think that would be better, some think it wouldn't.

Why is the German situation relevant... have you had a chance to read the Select Committee report to see what it says?

I meant - the UK constitution as it affects how our govt works domestically. Things like ministers have to obey the law and can get taken to judicial review when they break the law, they have to respect the devolution settlements, etc. Quite important stuff if you don't want to live in a superstate dictatorship.

Probably won't have much effect.

A shortcut has to be a challenge, otherwise it would just be the way. No situation is so dire that panic cannot make it worse.
There are two kinds of people in this world: those can extrapolate from incomplete data.

The above is nothing more than a long lament from those that have serious issues with democracy.
