I am surprised only that he lasted that long. The DUP has no ambition other than permanent conflict.

The DUP imploding is another significant step on the way to a united Ireland, and not under the British Crown.

And today's meeting of An Chomhairle Aireachta Thuaidh-Theas has consequently been "postponed".

This is an awful time to lose those slow, boring, essential, normalising discussions.

The DUP firstly supported Brexit unlike most of the populace of NI. Then they blackmailed Teresa May into believing they would support her but actually torpedoed her EU agreement, which ultimate brought her down and got Johnson in. Johnson told bare faced lies in the drunken promises he made - a film clip is on record with him telling a bunch of DUP people that there would be free NI/GB trade when he absolutely knew otherwise. Johnson, of course, betrayed them as he has betrayed the farmers, the fishermen and all of us.

"Brexit has provided fertile ground for the “forces of darkness” in Northern Ireland, the North’s Lord Chief Justice, "Sir Declan Morgan, has said.
"In an address to a conference entitled "Is Brexit a Challenge to the Rule of Law on the Island of Ireland?", he said the adherence of elements of the community to “the notion of success through violence hangs over us like a dark, foreboding shadow”."

I never voted for the buffoon, nor wanted him anywhere near being PM, let alone being an MP.

I'm a Socialist at heart, but I still remain someone who never wanted us in the Union of Europe in the first place.
nothing to do with Tory/Labour/Anyone.
Mick, many socialists were and still are pro brexit, I am a life long cycling socialist who is pro the EU and anti Brexit and beleive it's the biggest single political mistake for the well being of this country in my lifetime. However, I absolutely respect your right to disagree with my position on the issue. There's a lot to unfold yet, and part of the problem is the untrustworthy nature of the politicians currently leading the way on this issue.

Judgment in the NIP application: it isn't unlawful. File with bears and the Pope.

Next up, probably this afternoon, chilled meats etc. Available metaphors include sausage extensions and kicking them down the road. And that might be the least wurst solution.

Lord Frost: “We are pleased we have been able to agree a sensible extension on chilled meats moving from Great Britain to Northern Ireland - one that does not require rules in the rest of the UK to align with future changes in EU agrifood rules."

I think the agreement has just highlighted the problem rather than found any solution

For the EU it is time to implement what was agreed, while the UK sees it as a time to renegotiate. What actually now occurs is probably somewhere in the middle – but the tension between the positions will continue to be difficult to handle.

The problem is the same today as it was yesterday.

It’s a funny thing how those who shouted loudest for Brexit appear to be the slowest in accepting Brexit.

One is tempted to say, “You won. Get over it”. But I won’t.

To me Roger Daltrey (The Who lead singer) sums up this up. A staunch supporter of Brexit but now we've "taken back control" he wants musicians to have special terms and conditions so they'll be able to enjoy the benefits they had when we were an EU member state.

He got what he wanted but now he's got it he's not happy with it and wants his EU membership privileges back!

Everyone seems to have been expecting a Brexit different to the one they got. They appear to have wanted one that worked for them but not everyone else. It would be the other people who would be the losers.
