Boris's Brain is missing

The information watchdog has agreed to look into a challenge to secrecy surrounding a key statement made by police investigating Dominic Cummings’ lockdown journeys.

And the Public Accounts Committee report on Test and Trace, probably best to sit down before reading:

I see Johnson is re-activating his bridge/tunnel Scotland to NI again.

Grant Shapps said the government was considering building a bridge or tunnel between Scotland and the island of Ireland.
“One of the elements in that review is should we have some sort of fixed connection – that could be a tunnel, it could be a bridge – between, for example, Scotland and Northern Ireland, which is the closest crossing,” he told BBC Breakfast on Wednesday.
...
But some have claimed the prime minister is simply seeking a distraction and noted that his talk of bridging the Irish Sea follows similarly grandiose and ultimately undeliverable schemes he dreamed up while mayor of London. And experts have warned that the depth of the Irish Sea and the presence of dumped munitions would cause problems.

This is "a problem with honesty" on an unprecedented scale for a Minister in Parliament.

I agree but see the underlying issue with a Johnson character flaw. The (Parliamentary) record is unambiguous (apparently) so there is no question he misled Parliament and no question he should resign (he has already failed to "... of paramount importance that ministers give accurate and truthful information to Parliament, correcting any inadvertent error at the earliest opportunity" as per Ministerial Code). The Code does not include any role for the Speaker in correcting a misleading statement made to MPs by a member of the government.
But Johnson just can't bring himself to admit he made a mistake. Obvious cause to my mind - arrogance/narcissism/whatever - but a major character flaw.
(Personal opinion).

Whilst I relish criticism of the Government I can't take the opinion of somebody who does not even understand "no non-essential" and thinks the way to check if his eye sight is OK to drive is to go to a drive (presumably if body hospitalised or killed by his "test" he's "safe"?). Can you imagine his revised driving test "Congratulations Mr. Smith, you completed the test without hospitalising anybody so you pass".
Criticism good but from somebody with negative credibility it's meaningless. Time MPs stopped bothering listening to the twerp.

I see the proposed travel legislation has what is and has beecome known as "The Stanley Johnson Exemption"
Which in many ways says it all. Businesses in UK closed, staff furloughed and far too many falling through the well identified gaps, etc., etc. - yet 2nd homes overseas (with the risks of new variants returning to UK) are exempt and bound to be associated with Johnson's Dad's high profile trips to his 2nd home in Greece.

An exemption dubbed the “Stanley Johnson clause” allowing people to travel overseas in connection to second homes abroad is to be included in new coronavirus rules.
The legislation, which could see people leaving England for a foreign holiday left facing a £5,000 fine, will allow trips for the “purchase, sale, letting or rental of a residential property”

I centainly don't agree with such contracts but it does raise "who?"

“At that point lots of people on the call said ‘oh no!’,” one MP told The Times.
The reputation of NHSX suffered during the development of the contact tracing app, whose roll-out faced a number of problems.

Boris Johnson’s former deputy at the Foreign Office has described him as an “embarrassing buffoon” in a new book.
Sir Alan Duncan, the MP for Rutland and Melton from 1992 until the last election, said the prime minister was “a clown, a self-centred ego, an embarrassing buffoon, with an untidy mind and sub-zero diplomatic judgment”.
“He is an international stain on our reputation,” Duncan added, in diaries that have been serialised in the Daily Mail.
Later, after Johnson quit as foreign secretary in July 2018, Duncan wrote that Johnson needed publicity like a drug addict needs cocaine. He also told the Spectator in September that year that Johnson “needs a regular fix” of headlines and equates it with political power.
He doesn't think much of Johnson, does he?Duncan also claimed he had had a row with Johnson over a press report about diplomats treating him as an “international joke”.
Johnson is said to have asked: “Why don’t they take me seriously?” Duncan claims he replied: “Look in the f***ing mirror
It's the same the whole world over
It's the poor what gets the blame
It's the rich what gets the pleasure
Isn't it a blooming shame?
