Yes.
And this is not inherently a Left-Right or Labour-Conservative issue: it's something quite different.

My simple understanding is that there are genuine alternative views about actually opening up, whatever that means, but in the matter of protective measures (face masks, distancing, indoor gatherings with limited ventilation etc) medical opinion is united in the view that these should be mandatory
I wouldn't go as far as "united" on "mandatory", but certainly a crucial intervention that many experts, including SAGE as above, would like to see consistently and repeatedly emphasised. This seems to be the case regardless of their furniture. And it appears in the advice from many professional bodies.
And an excellent example of where it would be helpful to see the CMO's advice to government.
Thanks. Clarity would, of course, be a good start.
Yes, and consistency.
Apart from the experts we now know that the following will be requiring or recommending masks:
Manchester
Scotland
All health care facilities in England
TfL.

I see that as well as saying “wear a mask but don’t wear a mask “ and “go to work but stay at home “ Mr Johnson is tell southern Tory voters that “levelling up doesn’t actually mean levelling up.”

And he seems to think people wont notice. They have vague variable rules or maybe it's guidance or maybe "personal responsibility" and it's uncertain who will enforce what rules and he thinks people don't spot the elephant.
Ewen Fergusson, a member of Oxford’s infamous dining club at the same time as the prime minister, has been named as one of two new members for the committee on standards in public life.
Sir Alistair Graham, former chair of the independent committee, claimed the appointment was “pathetic” – given the friendship between Mr Johnson and Mr Fergusson.
"The ICO can confirm it is investigating an alleged data breach.
"EMCOR Group (UK) plc, which provides facilities management and CCTV services for the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), has submitted a breach report as a processor of personal data, alleging images were taken from the DHSC CCTV system without consent from either EMCOR Group (UK) plc or the DHSC."

I was just wondering if anyone knows how we are getting on with the 40 new hospitals. And 20,000 each nurses and police officers.
Not very well. I read that we've still got about 200 steel props holding up the roof of the life-expired-10-years-ago temporary Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn. https://www.edp24.co.uk/news/health/qeh ... id-8017490
MJR, mostly pedalling 3-speed roadsters. KL+West Norfolk BUG incl social easy rides http://www.klwnbug.co.uk All the above is CC-By-SA and no other implied copyright license to Cycle magazine.
...and now they've changed their mind. The worst of all possible worlds. Now they look as if they don't care about the regs., and that they're inconsistant, and that the original excuse for not following the reg.s, all of a sudden, somehow doesn't count... Cummings' characterisation of that shopping trolley crashing from one side of the aisle to the other doesn't seem so far off.
