I still remember breakfast TV presenters (many many years ago when I watched that rubbish on my way out to work) challenging viewers to summarise novels in as few words as possible. They went embarrassingly quiet when rather than summarising a novel one viewer summarised breakfast TV instead as 'Two overpaid celebrities flirting on a couch'.

So here's a challenge; describe Boris Johnson in as few words as possible, I'd go for: Lazy narcissist.

Any advances?

What's the state of the legal challenge to the recent allocation from central government? I saw the analysis by electoral advantage, but was there ever an application for judicial review?
Application for judicial review... permission granted.

From the Chair of the Committee on Standards in Public Life to the Chancellor of the Duchy of lancaster:

Johnson’s latest trade envoy to Australia, Lord Botham: “ We need to remember that England is an island…”

I obviously use the wrong atlas.

I suspect he was talking ideologically.

I suspect there are way to many UK citizens with that misguided ideological outlook!

It was my first thought until I looked at the press page and saw the pic of Johnson & Botham glasses in hand and given Botham's Brexit support

But also, in context

From another thread:
This morning's interview with the Foreign Secretary:
https://mobile.twitter.com/sturdyAlex/s ... 6785661953
I heard it and my feeling as it was happening was, how do these people get appointed to such senior posts.
These are pure patronage: no identifiable recruitment process and no transparency.

And no pay, which means that a whole lot of competent people can't do them.

And no democratic accountability.

But it's even worse than that. By appointing "parliamentarians" it creates a conflict of interest when they should be holding the Executive to account.
