Christmas decorations

Post by Oldjohnw »

A near neighbour of mine put their Xmas tree in the front window today.

The earliest I've ever seen in my neighborhood.

He also has a small front garden in which there is a trampoline which fills the garden and the largest Wendy house I've ever seen in the back. I'm sure there is no connection between all of these things.

It's a capital offence to put anything up to do with Christmas until December starts.

Saw the first near me about 2 weeks ago and apparently there are some even earlier than that.
Loads now, once someone breaks cover they all go for it.

Or is the Wendy House actually the dwelling?

Killing innocent trees for fun for Christmas should not be allowed

Could do with some Christmas spirit all year. Hic!
Understand that this year the decorations are especially early just to bring a little colour into peoples lives.
You'll never know if you don't try it.

I had to leave The Range the other day. The tannoy was playing a truly teeth-grinding cover of the BandAid Christmas jingle.
“It’s Christmas time......”
No it flipping isn’t, not for another month!
Next year I think I’m going to celebrate my birthday for 6 weeks and see how long it is before people want me dead.
The older I get the more I’m inclined to act my shoe size, not my age.

One year we dug up our Xmas tree from the farm growing it. It lasted Xmas and once taken down sat in the backyard in the pot. Year and a half later we put it into the ground and it's still growing ok three or four years after first dug up. The only reason we never reused was because it's a big deal for our young son to choose a new tree each year. It happens about the time in of his birthday in mid December.

It's our tradition to get the tree and of the decorations up middle of December. IMHO earlier than this is simply wrong for domestic settings. For shops I think beginning of December is appropriate.

There's a few round this way with Xmas decorations up. It seems they took Halloween decorations down and Xmas ones up instead. It seems to me some people like to celebrate events and this is the season for it. Halloween, bonfire night and Xmas. Don't forget divalli too.

Hi All, As for quite a few months we have already had a "Sony Movies Christmas" channel on TV, Channel 51 if you must, a surfeit of Christmas is with us  :( .
9494Arnold you are not alone, the marketing gets earlier and earlier each year, compares with the "Back To School" ads before the schools have broken up?
Even worse for me is the sheer torment of finding that the process of finding suitable gifts for a SWMBO who has everything???? She's already pulled a face over something which I spotted on TV, the lovely, warn, overwrap slippers (Popular it seems in care homes), so my head is beginning to hurt!
