Biden has indicated that he will do just that.

Yes. Day One for both of those.

Well Trump's finally moved house, but did he take all the light bulbs, fixtures and fittings with him.

Good grief.
I've just found myself watching the inauguration.

Shoot me now.

Hello, Joe Biden has offered the olive branch, not hit people across the face with it! He asked for respect and contrition from and for all.
Have debate not abuse, discussion not discord, let us hope that such is used as a role model both in the US of A and also this side of the pond, work to make things work not strive prevent thing from working. Help not hinder.

That's a definite maybe,if not total,in part.
The problem as I see it is the last one didn't actually fix anything

That'll be about right!

Unless populism dies then I don't think unification is on the cards for most places - us included.

Quite!

Thought this was quite hopeful: Pro-Trump protest outside New York State Capitol building today...

I switched on just in time for the Lady Gaga concert. Quite a good attraction getting an inauguration included. Wonder how she’ll top that on her next tour. :D :D

The Lady who topped it all for me was Amanda Gorman.

I'm not given to public emotion but I've listened to her deliver her poem three times now and been brought to tears each time.

The end of Trump is a bright spot in a terrible time, and it is understandable that we should look forward to the new President with hope.
His coming decrees, especially on the Climate Catastrophe, are much needed.
But, he would not be where he is if he did not have the approval of the corporations and the rich, who provided the essential dollars.
I fear that, like Obama, he will fail to make the great changes needed.

I did hear somewhere that on Biden's initial list of policies is the banning of pre-shredded cheese. He is indeed going to make America "grate again".

I'll get my coat.

Awfully familiar set of demographic indicators on voting intention there...

As for division, I suspect like here, it will stay without some major constitutional overhaul.
