There was an interesting juxtaposition of two letters to the ed in the Daly T the other day. One was from somebody senior at the census organisation saying how perfectly it had all gone. The other was from somebody senior at Oxford who had had the task of ensuring the collegiate university's data about addresses was correct for the census database. Among other things, he mentioned that a building which had been converted several decades ago and which had been correctly identified in the last three censuses had been wrongly recorded as though the conversion had never taken place. If they cannot get it right when dealing with a major institution apparently doing everything to co-operate, they've little hope with people who choose not to co-operate or who are not equipped to do so.

My neighbours work to this
1) find the census job application from memory June the job ends
2) totally ignore anyone and anything census related
3) Some security guard type tried a Pace interview on the doorstep in 2011, they just shut the door and left the person rambling.
4) Dear householder letter they laughed and burnt with great glee.

So the moral of the story is if you choose this route, no contact and the less than 500 convictions in uk were people who played along and signed paperwork.

My guess census act and occupiers liability act need a name, striking poverty & abandoned by the government = at least locally total disinterested people with the census.

Not sure if all the neighbours have Internet and with hysteria in the news a random stranger isn't going to be invited in as either
