4% on top of the already paid £500 pre-election bribe

As for affordability- the IFS had crunched the numbers and found the SNP are using one off Covid funding to pay for ongoing commitments like the 4,% rise..

The consequences of the 4% pay rise the report also said . IFS added that “similar stark choices face the UK government”

Out walking yesterday with a reliable source who told me what a local bike shop has recently received from Scot Gov. He might have had to wait a while but certainly hasn’t been left short. If the money has been redistributed from business support to nurses pay then I know one business who certainly isn’t bothered about that.

"How and why has the Scottish Government’s funding changed in recent years?"
https://www.ifs.org.uk/publications/15385
which links to the full report.

But it's the Scottish Government, not the SNP.

So when things don't look good in the UK, we can say it is the UK Government and distance Boris and the Torries from it ?

In liberal democracies there's a difference between a political party and a government. In totalitarian states often not so much.

(And paying more attention to that difference would be a good idea in the Westminster government. )

The SNP rule the roost up here so it is reasonable to refer to the Scottish Government as Nicola and the SNP. We can't cherry pic and only mention Nicola when it suits

Correct me if I'm wrong but the head of the govt is Nicola Sturgeon an SNP politician. While govt policies are delivered by the civil service and other public employees the policies are set by elected politicians. So any flaws in the policies belong to the politicians.

The SNP are happy to claim the credit for the good so they own the bad as well.

I was struck by the difference in wording between the IfS paper and how it was cited here.
