The reported job description for chief impact officer sounded like a sinecure to me. I've no problem with him cashing in on his celebrity - while it lasts.

I would agree. sometimes businesses want a "famous name" on their board to increase their profile. Bit like in London your Head Office postcode used to be important (I don't know these days).

Who had heard of the company he's now associated with but now their name in all the headlines. You can't buy that sort of publicity (except they did).
