Wind

Post by Tiberius »

North east coast and it's blowing big time here - XC Weather (which I find very good for wind speed/wind direction around here) says 35mph gusts.

SO....If the wind is blowing from the west, how come the wind speed (here and now) is higher on the east coast than it is on the west coast? It would appear that it somehow gathers momentum?

I regulary find that on windy days, with wind coming from the west, if I cycle west (into the wind) the wind drops off as I get away from the coast.

Annoying.
