You quoted two statistics and asked a question based on them.
It's obviously sensible to check the statistics before attempting to answer that question (or any other) that is based on them.

You quoted two statistics and asked a question based on them.
Still my intuition proves totally spot on.
Thanks.Paulatic wrote: ↑26 Oct 2021, 8:18pm U.K. figure is 79.3% of population aged over 12 had second dose.
81.4% in Wales

Is that total cumulated or some other statistic?
So my stats were and are ok?Jdsk wrote: ↑26 Oct 2021, 8:31pm I'm trying to answer the question that you asked. That requires being sure about the statistics that you introduced.
If that's the total cases over the outbreak I can't see how it's connected to the current vaccination rate. Many of the infections and deaths will have occurred before the vaccination programme reached that coverage.

Perhaps, but it's possible to be too cautious. Have to admit the fact that Radio 4's PM program only allocated 3 minutes to Covid today, 40 minutes into it's 60 minute slot rather emphasises that. As does the fact that none of the medical or drug issuing NHS staff I spoke with yesterday at hospital were bothering with masks, which now seems to be the norm. Suppose it's time to forget about it
The sense was cautious with the promptly queried stats.
The protection after infection appears similar to that from a dose of vaccine.
Where were those cited, please?PDQ Mobile wrote: ↑26 Oct 2021, 8:36pm I cannot understand why new infections have reached an all time high? (As cited)
It's all carefully explained (and cited) in my initial post. And well you know it.Jdsk wrote: ↑26 Oct 2021, 8:58pmThe protection after infection appears similar to that from a dose of vaccine.

What figures are you using for current new infections? I don't think that can be "400,000".
Jonathan
What do you mean by "too cautious", please?
