'Senior Moments'

Post by colin54 »

Does anyone have any 'Senior Moment' stories they are willing to admit to; funny or otherwise?
The ' Where are my glasses ?' one, is almost so cliched as to be a given (they're on your head, if you're looking for them as you attempt to read this).
This one's my contribution, from a couple of years ago. When I leave the house for a ride, I push the bike through the front door and need both hands to complete the task. One day after leaning the bike outside I couldn't find my keys, looked around the house for two or three minutes and eventually discovered them hanging from my mouth where I had gripped them by their fob so that my hands were free.
colin (age 67and a 1/2), does that even count as senior here !?

There's a delightful study showing that you can find things faster by saying their name out loud as you look. But I think that you've found a situation where that wouldn't work. Or would immediately.

I no longer have senior moments...

just brief periods of lucidity.

Very good.
I had one of those whistle key-finder things as my fob once, but chucked it as it kept interrupting my whistling versions of Stevie Wonder harmonica solos (and was slightly more in tune).

What's the equivalent of TTIUWP but with sounds rather than pictures?

Most days I go to some part of the house and have no idea why.

Leave immediately John, before the new owners return- you don't live there anymore !
Happy new home by the way.

Lathered my hands thoroughly and clapped them to my face hard enough to break my glasses in half.
It's the same the whole world over
It's the poor what gets the blame
It's the rich what gets the pleasure
Isn't it a blooming shame?

Having to look up TTIUWP from jdsk's post, that was a SSSM (senior silver surfer moment), that was.

I've been having Senior Moments half my life!
Often gone into rooms and can't remember why.

These days, it's happened a couple of times, that I'll be looking high and low for my glasses ................ only to find I was wearing them!

I remember my grandfather being an avid football pools fan. Religiously every week, and woe betide anyone who interrupted his checking his copy coupon on a Saturday 5pm for the football results!

His copy coupon was always wrapped in the same elastic band, and he called it his Lucky Lastic.
One day he couldn't find it and was livid and angry and searched everywhere, blaming everyone for taking it.

Then .................... he found it on his wrist!
