The Levellers are great!

Much of my formative years was spent listening to "A Weopan Called the Word" and "Levelling the Land". I've been wanting to see them live for ages, but never had the opportunity (work and family pressures  ), I fear I could be a bit too old for them now though.

Even so, if they come around this way I'll definitely make the effort to drag myself and the Missus along. Can't beat a bit of moshing with a load of dreadlocked Crusties!

Ah, the Levellers! This thread has urged me to play 100 Years of Solitude...

I'm not that big a fan - but they're a good band. I remeber when I was a kid, they had a massive gig where anyone who was unemployed was allowed in free. I knew a few people who went, but this being the eighties and me being about eight, my parents wouldn't let me go :(

Yes I'm into The Levellers, but I also like bit of New Model Army, saw both with Maddy Prior and others in Kings Lynn earlier in the year as part of Rev Hammers "Free Born John" rock musical/opera, its worth looking out for, quite a collection of musicians all in one show, which tells the story of one of the original Levellers.

They played at Cropredy this year.
I stuck the first three songs then went back to my tent.
Sorry to disappoint you but they were more noise than music, to me.

Yay, I like 'em! Levelling the Land was THE album back in the day (at school!!)

Scary thing is.....

That album is nearly old enough to vote!!!

(not that it would)

I've lost touch with them a bit - I think they're in Norwich December time, might have to check that out....
