Whats wrong?

Postby kwackers » 10 Dec 2009, 4:45pm

I've gone out for a ride, I go to pull of from the lights, my cadence reaches 100 rpm but I don't move.

What's wrong?

If this is a serious question
Pawls in the freehub have Frozen and are not engaging. Assuming the Chain is still on and engaging

If not.
Your holding the front brake on and doing a rear wheel burnout.
Someone crept behind and lifted the rear wheel off the floor

If your on a Trike, then oil on the road.
You won't fall over due to being on three wheels.
But you won't go anywhere either as the back wheel will just spin.

I've done that trick on wet leaves on the road on a hill.

Luck ............. :D

If you have a freewheel or uniglide cassette you just stripped the thread on the top sprocket. Been there done it.
At the last count:- Focus Variado, Peugeot 531 pro, Dawes Discovery Tandem, Dawes Kingpin, Raleigh 20, Falcon K2 MTB dropped bar tourer, Longstaff trike conversion on a Falcon corsa. :D

Changer missaligned and chain running over top of sprocket.
Percussive maintainance, if it don't fit, hit it with the hammer.
