Recently built this Genesis Longitude after seeing R2's green Longitude on here.
Might eventually get round to trimming the steerer.

Nice Longitude that, what tyres are they..land cruisers? Here’s mine but with more of an off-road build...on top of the Berwyns! Very versatile bikes.

..and my 1995 Marin Eldridge Grade rough stuff tourer with land-cruisers, full guards and front rack. I absolutely love this bike. It’s so well balanced and a very comfy ride, on or off road.

This is my trusty old Boardman MX Comp Hybrid / winter bike.
It’s a Sterling performer, and I’ve had it for about 5 years now.

Some steep hills out of Hebden Bridge James, my Dawes 1-Down there in 2015 when it had flat bars. I like a plain colour bike meself.

Home made mince pies

Hebden bridge is my go to ride if I want a big climb nearby its a good mile up from oxenhope one side and possibly 3 miles the other side....

The frame is an old 501 frame from my student days which replaced a Carlton 531 bike that was stolen.

It's a no nonsense frame but without rack mounts.

I've just put 9spd tiagra on it and it shifts so much better.

Have we had a Spa Elan on here? Here's my 725 version:

And a close-up so you can see the sparkly bits in the paintwork - which delight my granddaughters!

Now fitted with 35mm tyres and a much larger home-made mudflap for the mucky winter roads.

Very happy with the bike. 531Colin has every reason to be proud of his design.

Is there any simalarity between the SOA elan and the Holdsworth elan? Apart from the name of course?

I know nothing of the Holdsworth Elan (except for a quick glance just now via Google), but it depends what is important to you. Apart from anything else, it looks as if the Spa has far greater clearances - up to 40mm tyres plus 'guards.

Make up your own mind.

The definition of Elan says something like style and energy, I suspect that's why both bikes were so named, and any similarities between them coincidental.
Or, the names might have nothing to do with movement and be named after the Welsh Valley which is a joy to ride through.
