Just been on Red Chilli's website. Do they just paint up Chinese open molds frames as their own?

I don’t normally name inanimate objects but if I did this bike would have to be called Trigger*
It’s my fourteen year old Rohloff bike, though in that time it’s had three frames, at least four sets of wheels, three saddles, three Rohloff hub shells, seat posts, pedals, cranks, brakes… I think the internals of the Rohloff are original as is the shell of the SON dynamo.
Latest rebuild, result of a cracked frame, is on a Thorn Mercury frameset, added rear disk brake, and transferred less than originally intended. Built it up in November, ridden around 2,000 miles since including a couple of Audax, Rapha’s Festive 500, a few days B&B touring and of course plenty of commuting.

Previous incarnations are probably on this thread somewhere, though I'm not looking through 100 pages to find them

I know the owner David and believe he's fully involved in the design process and that they aren't just painted up Chinese open molds.
I've owned my FR1 for a couple of years now and it's been a top ride!

First MTB in years, just went for a 10 mile ride with my Wife and Son and loved it. Plan on using it to go off road on Dartmoor.

:D

I was in Inverness 4 years ago (LEJOG) and saw one, I had been keeping my eye out for one since. They don't come up for sale to often, guessing there's not many around. Now just to work out how I want to strap my camping gear to it.

Love the green Surly - super-bike!

From the other extreme - my Giant Cadex/Raleigh Ravine mongrel.

My old faithful winter hack:

Image

Trek SL1000 [2005 model]
Very soon i plan to strip everything off the frame for a well earned clean up and overhaul. The knackered headset especially needs replacing. Will also be replacing bottom bracket, chainset, cables, brake blocks, handlebar tape, rear 9sp cassette & chain, new tyres - will replace the 23c with 25c which is as fat as can fit on this model.
The rack shown fitted in photo is a bit odd in that it's job is to hold the rear section mudguard, and a reflector... in all fairness this works very well but a brand new pair of mudguards will soon make the rack redundant.

Took photo a few days ago, on the way home near the end of a afternoon ride 8)

That looks too nice to be called a hack, my bikes look well and truly tatty (At best) before they get to that age.

Thanks for that - and the instructions! I shall try to improve my IT skills - photobucket made me lazy!
