Exactly. What I don't understand about this sort of reporting is that there is an automatic assumption that danger is bad.

Not everybody wants a bland life which ends in a drawn-out painful death from some incurable old-age malady. Nobody wants to die young, either, but I think it's wholly understandable that people want to *risk* dying young in order that the overwhelming majority can both die old, and live a little on the way there.

During my late teens and early 20's I was involved in several different equestrian sports, show-jumping, eventing, team-chasing, hunting, hunter-trials etc and worked in the equestrian industry. Thankfully I was never seriously injured (mainly bruises and scrapes and broken toes from being trodden on). Non of my friends batted an eyelid as to my welfare or safety.
The same friends think I'm mad for cycling in traffic .

I know it would be hot, but you can get your fingers in there too!

I never thought about it before, but why do they allow toasters in their present form? What's wrong with a ceramic plate system or a radiant element like on electric cookers? Why bare wires?

I see Mick's using smileys.

Mick replied:
No. Certainly not! I can't stand them, and will never use them. If one can't get over one's point without real words and punctuation, one should go back to school!

(But sadly, you're probably right!)

That you've taken the time to find that thread!

I sometimes use them now, but not often. Search through my posts and see how many you can find, and when I used my first one.
(You must be VERY bored to do that!)
