Publishing my story

(Copied from "Touring & Expedition") ......

I've nearly finished my long discourse telling the tale of my 1800 mile MegaBikeRide from LAND'S END to JOHN O'GROATS AND BACK over three weeks during last July.

Would it be well received if I posted each day's journey on this board, perhaps at the rate of one day per week?

I can easily cut and paste from my document, and I think people would find it interesting and informative.

Shall I do it?

It would be better if you put it on the web so that we could read it in one go.
Why not stick it on myspace or similar as a blog?

Yep, I would love to read it.

I agree with Dia though, it might be better as a blog.

Perhaps it should be a question to the admins :-

"Can we have a blog space on the server please ?" :-)

Hi everybody.

I've thought long and hard, and decided to publish via a blog. If I put my story on this forum, I think the whole thing would become too big and difficult.

So, please see http://lejogandback.blogspot.com/ for the first installment of my thrilling adventure!

PLEASE READ IT !! And please post your comments on "TOURING and EXPEDITION" - LE JOG and Back - The Story.

The first parts are "The Introduction" and "Chapter One"

Next part will appear soon!

I could’ve turned round, and gone all the way back!” Easy, I thought. But it’s like running a marathon, and finding it easy, so running another straight away.

Things like that make you wonder why the bicycle is not the most important form of transport today.

good story.

The reason I metnioned Dervla Murphy as the best cycling writer in her genre
(present company excepted) is that she avoided mentioning her bike at all!
It was what happened while she was with her companion, which seemed to be human, that mattered. Only very occasionally did we discover that, in the middle of Zulu South Africa, was a woman alone, on a bike, doing her best to look like a man!

You never know what might happen in the future :) Can't promise anything at the moment though, I'm afraid.
