it's a nice quiet place to sit and relax.

It's a cafe that does bike repairs, hire and sales, always a friendly welcome here and the tropical cake is excellent !

They support the charity 88 bikes.

Closed Mondays and Tuesdays.

A beautiful bit of towpath to ride along as well.

+1 to all that. They were swamped in the Xmas/New Year floods, but back in business again on Friday afternoon, Saturdays and Sundays. I don't know for sure whether their bike repairs are back in business yet, but they do sell electric bikes now.

The food is good(Breakfast portions are HUGE) but it does get very busy at weekends!

Just don't eat lots, then head straight over, then southwards over The Strines (Mortimer Road'), or you'll taste it more than once!!

I/we always use it after the Strines for that reason
Stunning but tough road in either direction!

It's nearly four decades since friends took me over that road, and I still remember it.

Most of it has been resurfaced now,for the 2014 TDF Grand Depart,so it's a fantastic, smooth, scenic but tough road 8)

Not been over it, in either direction, since before the TDF

My first time over it, was on a bottom gear of 42 x 21 (south - north!)
Not fun, & I still remember that

My favourite tea stop is back home after a ride, with home-made bara brith from my Welsh grandmother. To upgrade an Irish proverb: if bread and butter will not cure it, nothing will.

Ooh, we were on a cycle ride along what I believe is called the tarka trail in devon, and came across Otterton Mill, and to this day that is one of the best tea shops (with the best cream tea!) I have ever been in!

The cafe network app or website is a very useful resource if looking for a cafe.

Rode it on a Lejog back in 2002, on a scenic leg from Hathersage to Malham. Hilly, but I chose a pretty hilly route in general.

If you were on the Tarka Trail in and around Braunton, Barnstaple, Bideford in North Devon then you weren't at Otterton Mill in East Devon (in Otterton on the River Otter) or vica versa!

Timothy's Tea Room and Restaurant is inside The Fosseway Garden Centre in Moreton-on-Marsh (Cotswolds). It's not particularly cheap, but the quality is good. They're welcoming of cyclists, motorcyclists, families, et al. But there's no specified cycle parking in the ample car park.

The deciding factor for me is that they have plenty of seating, including a large lounge area. So, there's no pressure to move on. I can sit with my paper for as long as I like before cycling on. Large groups can be absorbed.

A drawback is that it's about half a mile out of town on the Fosseway, which can be busy.
