Must drag myself up there, sounds good!

Go to www.cyclingburylancs.com and click on Cafes and Tearooms for details in the North West of England including the Forest of Bowland, Fylde coast, Yorkshire Dales and others further afield too!

Not a tea-shop per se but one of my more regular hangouts...

the Global Cafe/Bar, 35-39 London Street, Reading. Closed Mondays, open rest of week from 12pm till... very late. Great coffee, wide selection of various types of tea... cake, snacks... and Ethiopian food :D.

It's about 100m off NCN4.

On my recent tour of Cumbria my top eating-stop was the bakery and cafe at Broughton-in-Furness, their toast was a lifesaver on a thoroughly wet and miserable day, and their veggie pasty and flapjack made an excellent lunch some time later... when it had actually stopped raining.

The toast I had at the Mill at Little Salkeld was also excellent, with generous amounts of Botton Village jam. http://organicmill.co.uk/
Howgills Cafe in Sedbergh was also very good, as were the Appleby Bakery (there's a branch in Kirkby Stephen too) and the Lunesdale Bakery at Kirkby Lonsdale.
I wish we had bakeries as good here in Nottingham! [Cue angry posts telling me about superb bakeries just down the road that I've somehow missed? I hope so!] :)

We did a day's tour up in North Norfolk last week and visited (once again!), one of my favourite tea rooms.
It's the "Owl Tea Rooms" in Holt. There is a lovely walled courtyard garden to sit out if the weather is good and the grub is is truly scrumptious.

(There is also a cracking one in Aylsham but I forgot to take the name of that one. Just off the square and up the road from the bike shop).

Eat the food and watch the bird life through the telescopes at the cafe of the Vane Farm RSPB gaff (OS 1:50000 Sheet 58, NT160990), on the B9097 on the south side of Loch Leven; it gets very busy if any particularly exotic birds turn up on the loch.

Skinny Kitten, great little cafe in Barton under Needwood, Staffordshire, popular village with cyclists en route to and from Peaks, now open on Sundays too. Serves calorific cakes, sumptuous sausage sandwiches and decent coffee with handy courtyard at back to store bikes. No website yet, but details of this and other idiosyncratic favourites for cyclists and walkers at:

This is the 'Tickled Pink' tea room in Lavenham, Suffolk. It does wonderful tea and scones and has one of the best appointed toilets outside Cutnall Green, Worcestershire!

As many cyclists are in the process of LEJOG planning, or even JOGLE planning, they can do no worse than taking the Northern Route through Cornwall.

They really need to call into the little cafe in Camelford - The Four Seasons.

I've often been there, meeting End to Enders and waiting there for them to come through. A quick lunch whilst keeping my eye out of the window for passing cyclists.

No pics, I'm afraid, but my favourites (not already mentioned somewhere above) are:

Papermill Lock Tea Rooms on the Chelmer and Blackwater http://www.papermilllock.co.uk/tearoom.htm

Woodland Coffee Shop at the Hollow Trees Farm near Semer, Suffolk http://www.hollowtrees.co.uk/woodlands-coffee-shop.htm

Both places are cyclist-friendly, have lots of lovley home made things (especially cakes!), plus indoor and outdoor seating. Papermill Lock Tea Rooms don't have central heating, so they can be a bit chilly on a winter day.

Having just returned from touring Herefordshire, Worcestershire & Gloucestershire, I can recommend the following tea/cafe stops:

Little Verzon Fruit Farm, on A438 just east of Trumpet, on road towards Ledbury.

The Hop Pocket Craft Centre, on B4214 just South of Bishop's Frome.

Pengethley Garden Centre, on A49 just West of Ross-on-Wye.

The Stables Tearoom, Upton on Severn (complete with CTC welcome sign).

The New Theatre Cafe, Great Malvern. (Only serving drinks, ice creams etc. plus lovely homemade cakes).

Fausto (now a couple of pounds heavier  ).

The tea room at Seale Craft Centre aka Manor Farm Craft Centre, Seale, West Surrey (between Farnham and Ash) is an oasis for cyclists. Just on the edge of some lovely spots for cycling, it is staffed by old ladies selling delicious home-made cakes, tea, and cold drinks.

I like Salts Village Bakery in Saltaire. It's only got a couple of tables so no good for club-runs.

http://www.qype.co.uk/place/356421-Salts-Village-Bakery-Shipley

Their meat and potato pies are to die for 8)

Edit: Forgot to mention it's just across the road from Salt's Mill, which has All Terrain Cycles on the ground floor.
