Thought this was a Cycling forum, which is trying to promote equality. I don't think jokes about sexism, nationalism are appropriate. Despite Si best efforts I can still see Jokes that might be deemed offensive, Some pretty clever wording might try and disguise the facts, but I would say bin the whole thread. it will only degenerate anyway.

No, this is the tea shop which according to it's remit is non-cycling related. If anything we should bin the threads that contain cycling material.

I agree with this. Should my thread about decorating be deleted as it is non cycling and basically making fun of me?

A tandem rider is stopped by a police car.

"What've I done, officer?" asks the rider.

"Perhaps you didn't notice sir, but your wife fell off your bike half a mile back . . ."

"Oh, thank God for that," says the rider - "I thought I'd gone deaf!"

I don't think it should be deleted. You should be given a brush and made to paint over it, about three coats of green should do.

We are all equals, some can just tell better jokes.

The Iron Lady is not an individual to make fun of. She single handedly saved us from the spectre of creeping socialism and turned us into the vibrant, rich and progressive society that we see around us today.

Well Si - I agree that Thatcher is no laughing matter - the tragedy is far beyond a joke - but as for the rest of what you say - my dear chap - surely you can't be serious, can you?

Just look at our country now, the social devastation, the poverty, the obscene wealth of the bankers et al , the part that the Murdochs have played and the relationship they've had with Thatcher and it's cohorts - really Si - look around this nation.

Dunno, I find some of the politics threads on here pretty offensive (and they are not restricted to the tea shop either!), but I don't object - this is a off-topic forum. I don't see the problem, certainly not with the current bowderlised version.

It's all Thatcher's fault, all inequality, ever. Even before she was born.

We will never forget this.
