Well Si - I agree that Thatcher is no laughing matter - the tragedy is far beyond a joke - but as for the rest of what you say - my dear chap - surely you can't be serious, can you?

Just look at our country now, the social devastation, the poverty, the obscene wealth of the bankers et al , the part that the Murdochs have played and the relationship they've had with Thatcher and it's cohorts - really Si - look around this nation.

LOL - before she was born? ... then it's not her fault.

Yes, I think Si was joking but it's worth not forgetting that the UK had become a world class joke by the time of the winter of discontent, humiliated by rampant trades unions, and Callaghan was voted out. Now, the UK economy is ranked seventh in the world and third in Europe.

Does that mean before long we can expect to receive aid and food from those above us? We already have Christian missionaries coming from Africa to convert all us heathens.

I went to one of their services ( a group from Uganda) not only was it a brilliant and moving performance but I would say they have a cast iron case about the UK church needing to find the god they have mislaid.

Just one flaw in their argument, God doesnt actually exist*.

* Although if she does exist, I am sure that she is a black African.

And no manufacturing base to speak of,I forgot we "let" China do that for us now.
There's the small matter of almost 3million on the dole.
A declining health and education service.
But "we"(all in it together) are very profitable :?
We also have a government(like the previous one)raked with corruption and controversy.
Remain the great evil's "puppet"
Shall I go on?
Hey but we're doing alright,aren't we? :|

Does anyone remember the cowboy at the flicks on Saturday mornings. I know it was a bit obscure but if you have you tong in both cheeks would it not be forked. The complete saying is not PC any more.

OK, time to trot out my old cycling joke(sorry for the repetition)......

Bill and Alf are at the Club 10 TT.

Bill's done his ride and is awaiting his mate, Alf, at the finish line.

Alf comes round the corner and everyone is amazed....he's on an extraordinary ride - going to knock at least a minute off the club record.

Then a funeral procession comes the other way. Rather than sprinting the last few metres to the line Alf stops his bike, gets off, removes his helmet and waits respectfully until the procession has passed by. Then it's back on the bike and over the line, but by now the record is out of his grasp.

Bill says to him: "Alf that was jolly descent of you, but you've thrown away your chance to go down in the club records."
Alf replies: "Well, it's the least that I could do, after all we have been married for 40 years."

I've booked myself into the health centre to have my sense of humor looked at.

I'll have to do it quickly, because Thatcher's successors will probably have it shut down next week - to save money fror their tax cuts for the rich.

Just had my water bill of £175 drop on my mat. That's rather a lot. Apparently Oxfam can supply a whole African village for just £2 a month: Time to change supplier, I think.
