I did the balloon in Kenya. A few months later I read that our pilot had crashed, killed himself, another passenger, and injured others… never again!
I skied on the top of a day visit to the Jungfrau. One ski came off and disappeared down the mountain. The hire guy wasnt amused. Since then I have never skied.

There was a balloon "accident", the thing went out of control, nearly managed to land, then rocketed up into the stratosphere, several people perished, must have been a scary way to die
Should balloon trips be banned?

One thing I used to do a lot was writing Letters to the Editor, to local papers, the CTC Gazette of course, gave that up years ago, it was fun, kept some copies
Had one published in a leading motoring journal, advocating enforcement of traffic law, there were some entertaining responses
Now I just argue on these fora

"Forest". Didn't know that one. I had to run it through my head for a few moments before I got it.
New vocabulary for Bryn.

Canoed on the Wye.
I've been on other rivers but not the Wye. I must put that right.

More fun if you work it out yourself. Kind of Cockney Rhyming slang. Forest is spelt with a capital letter, so it is a name. How many people do you know named Forest?

Think cinematic character with the name Forest. His surname rhymes with a word for what Elvis was allegedly doing when he met his end.

Re: Things you've never done
I believe the character's name intended in that excellent bit of rhyming slang was spelled "Forrest". Thought it might be helpful to Forrest that bit of information here.
(If only I'd noticed this thread yesterday, I'd have made more of that extra R.)
Back on topic: Drunk coffee, visited Antarctica, ridden a yak.
