Hi,
My old teacher said always keep your hands behind the blade :?
Then when making my first speaker enclosures I put my little finger under the work, the chizel slipped and went through the flesh and out the other side :o
When using power tools I always hold on to tool when it powers down, before putting it down.
I guess you had your other hand where it should'nt of been :)

If I had the choice between my life which involves travelling for pleasure, and travelling for work, or not travelling for either, I think I would choose the one I have, but I hate travelling for work so much it's a close run thing, and I can understand people who choose the latter have their own priorities and desires.

Like football; I cannot stand it, yet so many folk get so much out of it, that many probably could not grasp how anyone would not want to go to a game given the chance.

Reading is another big one.

Being social is perhaps even more divisive. Some folk can't live without people, some can't live with. I know where I stand, and I am sure you all do regarding yourselves.

As it happens, just over a week ago I took a slice out of my little finger whilst grating carrots. The sliver of skin disappeared into the bowl. I didn't actually remark, "I've really put my body and soul into today's lunch" but I said something on those lines... A week later it's still a bit sore.

(1) I've never been to Spain
(2) I've never bought a lottery ticket
(3) I've never tasted vodka
(4) I have never experienced drugs of any kind, in spite of having my formative years in the 60's when it was supposed to be free love and all that.
(5) I've never been to a football match (I'm particularly proud of that one)

I have been to Spain six times.

I've never bought a lottery ticket, tasted vodka or taken drugs.

I've been to about 2000 football matches.

My claim to fame is that I'm in my 50s and I've never been on an aeroplane. I'm not green or anything. I've just had office jobs in various UK cities and always taken holidays in England, Wales, Scotland or parts of Europe easily reachable by bicycle, car or train.

Been to thousands of football matches, playing, coaching and watching

Never heard a better sentence than "Why don't you go out on your bike darling"
Never understood why cycling is misunderstood by so many..

I had exactly the same thought as I crossed the Kennet and Avon Saturday afternoon on my bike.

I was quite proud of never having been to Blackpool however staying in the South Lakes at the weekend and a rainy day thought why not. Give it a go. Wish I hadn't bothered. Quite as expected.
