Last time I went to a barbers I think it cost me 2/- it was 1968!
I left school grew my hair and became a hippy
When first child needed to go to barbers I took him and said HOW MUCH!
Left the shop and went to Argos bought some clippers and used them ( not the same pair) ever since

I am not as old as Paulatic
So my last haircut was some £2.50, been cutting my own for at least twenty years maybe longer..........still have hair to cut too

Never eaten (slurped?) a gel

Never used shower gel, do not even know what it is

There are hundreds of punning names for barbers and less often salons. I mention it because, on the radio many years ago, I remember hearing an interview with someone who had done their PhD in the names of hairdressing businesses. It's making me smile now because we have been recently been establishing the importance of PhDs on another thread!

I suppose there must be some pruning names for barbers,but it'll probably be a short list,squared of at the bottom,with a leettle bit off the sides,and possibly only of interest to fringe members

Yesterday never cycled through water with front wheel fully submerged

To day 300 yrds lapping over my knees

Young guy on a bmx coming the other way must have been wearing wellies with duct tape and waterproof trousers, by the grin on his face.

I'm sure he would've needed ductape on it too on a BMX in water so deep,I don't think I would've been smiling

The last thing I expected to see was someone on a BMX bike.
I don't know what came over me but once I had one foot wet I thought I might as well carry on, there was a bit of side current from the draining water of the field into the canal, 1st gear eventually and used the fence as a shelter from the current.
I had already passed on the first flood where a cyclist was washed away and he had to be rescued, as I had no idea how deep it was.
Panniers were 80 % submerged, passed on the return home, it can actually be about another two feet deeper here.
All the bearings have rubber seals but will check before riding again.

Perhaps he was doing a wheelie.

I still wonder if it was deliberate but round the corner from us at our last house was a ladies' hairdresser: Hair by Dawn.

I never saw any bald men going in last thing in the evening...
