Dear cyclist,

Thank you so much for shooting straight across the road (from the entrance to the ambulance station ironically) in front of my car at lunchtime causing me to perform an emergency stop. I may have been slightly shaken up by the incident but at least have the happy memory of seeing you mount the kerb at speed and end up standing astride your bike in a beautifully kept flowebed with your wife sitting on her bike a few yards away sadly shaking her head side-to-side and no doubt wondering as I did how you had made it into your 70s. The flowers may not have survived, I'd be surprised if your front wheel had, but at least you did. Please remember that high-visibility bands won't help if you decided to throw yourself in front of cars.
