That depends on lots of things, how much, how frequent and what you compare it too.
I have an electric shower and can also use it to fill the Bathroom sink. I use the kettle for everything else. It's considerably cheaper than heating up a storage tank and having a large percentage of it cool before it gets used.

I've pretty much stopped using a shower at home, finding a basin of kettle-heated water is sufficient for a full body wash in a handbasin.

I'm cleaner : it's quicker : less chilly standing around : no tepid water wasted ( warming the pipes ) : less fossil fuels used . . . . There is a climate emergency !

there are some people who think we wash too much. Not of course hands after the loo etc just general washing incl clothes

And there are some people that think we don't wash enough!!
Something like 40% of our leccy comes from renewables. 20% from nuclear.
Water can be heated by directly solar panels.

To boil a kettle to have a wash is (a) not particularly efficient- an insulated tank would be better.
And (b) not as effective as a good shower. IMHO

I will never give up having a good shower.

if we were meant to have showers there would be more waterfalls about the place :wink:
