We bought a dark chocolate Toblerone yesterday. Nice BIG one at 400g and over a foot long.
Just having a chunk with a cuppa.

I had one (original one...not tried the dark chocolate ones....yet! - thanks for suggestion Mick...will do that!) as a Christmas pressie. Delighted that they were just as I remembered them - same packaging, the same foil paper inside and spelling Toblerone along the side of each chunk (oopps...I mean "Alp" ). Tasted just the same too

Unless I am mistaken, Toblerone remains unchanged...well that is going to be my excuse!

Walnut Whips seemed to disappear for quite a while. I bought them as a teenager, and now they're back. So I'll survive the loss of Creme Eggs that are worth eating, quite happily

The correct term is ALP,you're having an Alp with a cuppa,Chunks are pineapples in a can!

Where is this laid down that the Toblerone triangles are called Alps?

If my memory serves me correctly, an alp is a flat green place (pasture?) on the side of a mountain. Think of Heidi, or The Sound of Music.

The Alps are a complete mountain range.

I though the word for a high pasture is "Alm", not "Alp". In Heidi there's a character called "Alm-Uncle" (though it may be different in the original German).

I'm not allowed Toblerone just at the moment - whether it be an 'alp' or the entire bar.... ****** diet!

As a Toblerone isn't green or snowcapped or even connected to the Labour Party in Oz, I reckon my calling bits of it as "chunks" is quite fair.

Feeling equally as pedantic,a lot of Alps are termed a 'range' as in Alpine mountain range,and as it's better if only for packaging reasons Toblerone(not ''out on it's own'',remember that one )is a series of Alpine peaks in a line,ergo one ''out on it's own'' is singular ie;Alp

I'd stop eating chocolate in it's entirety if it meant I could only eat Cadbury's cream eggs YUK!
