Hi all, me again. A month or so back I shared a tour video of myself cycling to Scotland. That was my first tour and as I massively enjoyed it, I decided to go ahead and do a another tour, that I've finally finished editing the video for (below).
This time I decided to cycle to Paris, starting from North London (near Watford). I mainly did it as I've never been into continental Europe on my own (I'm 20), and thought it would be a good experience to try out.
The route that I cycled along from Dieppe - Paris was called the Avenue Verte, it's a popular cycle route that links London to Paris, probably most of you cycle tourists have heard of it anyway. It was amazing, well sign posted, the route was very open and I got to see lots of nice little towns. Also got to practice some french while I was there.
Was basically in the outskirts of Paris in 3 days, and I had 4 full days in Paris - that I mainly spent aimlessly cycling around the city like an idiot. Also went to Disney Land, which was fun
On the English side I cycled along the grand union canal to around about Uxbridge, where I made my way to Guildford, via Staines-upon-thames, by road. After Guildford I jumped on the downs link that links to the south coast, ending up near Brighton. Then I cycled along the coast to Newhaven - where I got the ferry across the Channel to Dieppe.
As I say, I made a video for the cycle tour, mainly so that I can look back on it. But if you happen to be interested though, then the link is below :

I would recommend the ride, it was great. But I could imagine London to Paris being even better if done in the summer, rather than early Autumn.
Thanks and
Happy Ridding

Nice video, must have taken a long time to edit all that! I didn't watch all of it but it gives a good impression of what the route is like.

very good video.....enjoyed it...well not some of the background music but i'm old
looks like you did the official route, I prefer what is known as Donald Hirschs route into Paris http://www.donaldhirsch.com/dieppeparis.html The entry into Paris is well...... spectacular passing as it does Versailles and then cycling through 5 Royal forests, a french cyclist did the last 35 miles of Donalds Hirsch route you can see how he got on here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lF5Is3rxvrY @14.28 is the first entry into the forests video 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5yAdsOzVJUI and video 3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9CFsX-0BMYM

Cheers! And yup I did the official route, I considered Donald Hirschs route but I figured that the official avenue verte one would have been easier to follow - as the route was signposted, and that it was already loaded on my GPS. Going through them forests would have been cool though, judging from those videos that you shared. But still, the long bendy river seine was fun. Have you done both rides? (since you say preferred)
also at least it was only 'some' of the music that you didn't enjoy
Thanks for the comment
