Short tour from Ludlow... ideas?

Post by Rabbit »

Hi all, I'm going to be spending three or four days in the Ludlow area (Ashford Carbonel actually) and wanted to do a circular tour taking in Ross on Wye if possible. Any suggestions as to routes? I'm just recovering from a minor knee injury so trying to avoid too much climbing. Recommendations for good cycle/campsites also welcome. Many thanks -

About 3 miles further south of Ross on Wye you can camp at the YHA at Welsh Bicknor, which is handy as you can use the kitchen. It a lovely setting just above a bend on the Wye.

Please note you used to be able to get to it by bike or foot by coming off the B4234 going down a path by the football ground and then going over an old bridge and then down little track to the YHA. The bridge has now been boarded up so you can't cross this way. You have to cross the Wye at Goodrich onto the B4229 and come in the same way as the cars.
