Not sure about "very cheap". I just looked at 3 and they were £6, £10 and £10 per person.

Yep two in York, one charging from £5 per person and the other from £6 per person whereas the excellent Acomb Grange campsite there charges 2 man tent - £9, 3-4 man - £10, 5-6 man - £13, over 6 man - £15. These are total prices, not per person.
The garden camping website also says "Landlords have the right to change rates for popular events." presumably just like many commercial campsites were charging ridiculous prices when the Tour was in Yorkshire. We camped at Acomb where they charged their normal rates.
